I'm a Brazilian visual artist who has been living in Viana do Castelo since 2019. After an initial career in architecture, my original field, I chose to redirect my path after moving to Portugal, and I now follow my true passions working as a freelancer in graphic design and photography.

Construction is moving ahead on Viana’s brand-new market. On the historic site where the first municipal market opened in 1892, later replaced by Prédio Coutinho.

Archaeologists will oversee the groundwork to protect newly uncovered remains of the old São Bento convent.
It’s a mix of preservation and renewal designed to bring energy, commerce and connection into the heart of the city.

What to expect when it opens:
• Modern fresh-food hall with local producers
• Improved public spaces around the site
• More life and footfall in the centre

A little disruption now… a lot of vibrancy later. Hopefully.

A new collaborative-housing project will convert a central building into eight apartments — a modern solution to growing housing and social-support needs in Alto Minho.

A small but meaningful shift toward stronger community living.

Valença becomes a paradise for chocolate lovers with stalls offering artisan chocolate, festive desserts, live demonstrations, and a magical seasonal atmosphere.

Families can wander through the illuminated streets of the fortress district while sampling truffles, sipping hot chocolate and picking up sweet gifts to take home.

A special evening at Viana’s historic theatre: Nuno Felner takes the stage for a concert that also unveils the new 2026 cultural program at TMSM. A great cultural night out before Christmas — and tickets are very easy on the wallet.

Next week in Viana, the weather will do what it does best: keep everyone guessing.

Expect a charming mix of clouds, rain, and brief moments of sunshine that last just long enough to make you forget your umbrella — temperatures hovering around 11–15°C.

One minute it feels fresh and cozy, the next you’re questioning your life choices staring out at sea, but hey, that’s Viana keeping things exciting. 🌧️🌤️
